QRIG2 is
now up and running !!!
Its been a
good few months, however most of the work was done in the last 2 weeks
err,
until I accidentally deleted the database last night taking all the work with
it. After having a stiff drink, I did about 2 weeks work in 5 hours (up until
3am this morning) to get it to where it is now.
The
following sections are now available
Community
About Us, QRIG Charter, Donations
Motive
Power Now sorted by Gauge, then Operator
I have some ideas up my sleeve for
this section including the Locomotive Logs. Im still transferring these from
the old site.
Lineside
Histories Peter is still working hard on this section, I still have to
transfer all the documents over from storage should take another day or so.
Safeworking
Currently has the Train Numbering Guide and Directional Running, however it
will grow in future for those interested in working on it.
Search
Yes, a Search facility that works
catalogues the whole site
IRC The
client is still available and will automatically use your username as per the
old site
Forum
Still working out what to do with the forum, I have setup 3 forums specific to
talking about the website, yahoogroup and gallery.
Events
Upcoming events, Ill spend some time sifting through a number of websites
putting upcoming events in the system.
On This Day
Yes, its back and it is searchable finally J
Now you
might ask, how do I log in, do I have to register again
the answer is no, if
you are a member of the Gallery, just use the username you use there.
The big
thing Im pushing with QRIG2 is user interactivity
you guys have the power to
add things to the site
initially its the News Only section, but there will
be special titles bandied around for people interested (ie. Author, Editor,
Publisher). I will explain the difference between them in a future Frequently
Asked Questions section.
Another
feature that will be implemented is an Enthusiasts guide to Qld this will
mainly cover field information such as Safety, Security, Scanner Frequencies,
etc. Also I hope to cover the future QR
Photography Policy once it is finally released.
What can I
say now
but enjoy
