'The Sydney Countrylink XPT Service is now arriving on Platform 3'
This morning the Countrylink XPT Service (NT1/NT2) from Sydney arrived on Platform 3 for the first time in history. Although ramps were needed for safe alightment/boarding for passengers, everything seemed to go well. Late last night and into the early morning the signal commissioning was well underway with both KFT3 (Pacific National Light NR class) and a QR narrow gauge Clyde assisting in sighting and track circuit testing.
The XPT will generally use Platform 2 (Gauntlet Track) once construction has finished.
