| Dean Stalker - QRIG.org Project Coordinator and Webmaster
Dean was born in Wollongong, NSW in 1981. The first time he went on
a train was in 1986 on a dark and wet night on an old 620/720 class
DMU. Dean moved to Qld in 1987 on the Brisbane Ltd. In 1999, after
graduating from high school, he decided to work out what he could do
with his spare time whilst looking for a job. He looked around on the
web one day and decided to use the keyword 'Railways' in a search
engine. He was intrigued when he came across Railpage and read the site
from top to bottom. One thing that was noticed was the lack of
information on railways in Qld. After planning to do yet another MIDI
(Music file) site, he decided he would focus his attentions on creating
a web site which would fill in the hole. This was to be the start of
The QR History and Info Site.
Meanwhile, he was also browsing the aus.rail Usenet group and
noticed the distinct bias towards the railways of NSW and Victoria. So
in May 99, he recruited a number of Qlders on aus.rail and formed the
QR History Mailing List on Listbot. In 2000, Listbot keeled over and
the list was transferred to eGroups (now Yahoogroups) and the list name
changed to the QRIG Mailing List. Two of the original members are now
the other two founders of the QRIG project (read their profiles below).

Adam Cole - QRIG.org Project Assistant & Moderator
Adam lives in Warwick, Queensland, and is an active
member of the Southern Downs Steam Railway. He enjoys umpiring cricket,
watching storms and studying the steam era. He is also a member of the
Salvation Army and a musician. He grew up in Brisbane, and from an
early age, acquired a love of model trains. It wasn't until a friend
asked him to join the SDSR that his love for steam trains began to
surface. When SDSR acquired C17 971, he began working on the loco
restoration, and the rest is history. Adam enjoys being involved in the
train tours on the Southern Downs, and has been train manager for The
Federation Express, and other trips on the Southern Line. He also
enjoys when in Brisbane, finding a vantage point in the city to watch
freight trains as they pass throught the city.
